Principal Product Manager

About the role

We are seeking Principal Product Managers to lead critical product areas. Ideal candidates have a proven track record of shaping strategy at the organizational level, launching new initiatives, and scaling existing products. They must be deeply technical, capable of engaging in architectural discussions with engineers, and adept at influencing executives. Strong candidates are AI-fluent, able to responsibly evaluate and deploy AI-powered features, and motivated by our mission to make mental healthcare accessible and affordable.

Responsibilities

• Define the strategy for a major product domain
• Identify the highest-leverage bets for Headway and make the case with data and customer insight
• Drive alignment across engineering, design, clinical, legal, operations, and executive leadership
• Ship meaningful product with measurable outcomes
• Lay foundations that last for the next 2–3 years of product work
• Elevate PM craft on your team through mentorship and collaboration
• Drive alignment across complexity without formal authority

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience owning large, complex product domains end-to-end
• Experience shaping strategy at the organizational level, not just within a team
• Proven track record of launching something new and improving existing products at scale
• Deeply technical, capable of engaging in architectural discussions with engineers and making informed build-vs-buy decisions
• Influence at the executive level, presenting strategy, answering tough questions, and securing buy-in without formal authority
• Level up PMs around you through mentorship, collaboration, or the quality of your own work
• Thriving in ambiguity, defining the problem as readily as solving it
• Able to evaluate and deploy AI-powered features responsibly and understand where AI creates real product leverage
