Principal Product Designer, AI Native, Core

About the role

Responsibilities

• Establish the strategic direction and product vision for complex problems, including the integration of AI-based assistive tools into consumer products.
• Collaborate with teams across Pinterest's suite of business products, focusing on areas where help is needed most.
• Tackle new design challenges and regularly contribute to major design initiatives.
• Mentor and help grow talent within the design team.
• Communicate creative work effectively and build trust among peers, influencing alignment with marketing, PR, and product teams.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience shipping inspiring, well-built experiences using the latest technology.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt shaping/engineering, prototyping, and AI product flows.
• A respected designer and product thinker with a mastery of craft and cohesive product strategy.
• An inspiring communicator who represents creative work and builds trust.
• A portfolio demonstrating breadth and creativity, with proven experience in product design, design thinking, and product strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in design or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Skills

• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
• Experience with agile methodologies and iterative design processes.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

At Pinterest, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $210,161—$432,684 USD, along with equity. We also provide comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Schedule

This role requires occasional in-office collaboration, meeting once every 6 months. The position is eligible for relocation assistance and can be located anywhere in the country.
