About the role

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Process Mechanical / Wastewater Engineer with 10 years of experience to join our Resilience Water Team in Tampa, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated engineer to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage project delivery within the municipal Water / Wastewater market of this region.
  • Manage and lead condition assessment evaluations for wastewater system assets including treatment facilities, pipelines and pump/lift stations.
  • Develop and meet scope, delivery schedules and project budgets for each assignment.
  • Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior level engineer and design/drafting technical staff.
  • Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards.
  • Travel (up to 20%) may be required to conduct project meetings, site visits, client meetings, , general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project needs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in wastewater treatment and design, including experience leading design projects and managing multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, or a related field, is required.
  • Holding a Professional Engineer (PE) License in Florida is required.

Key Skills/Attributes

  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills, along with excellent technical writing abilities.
  • Experience managing the preparation, review, and approval of project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, permit applications, RFIs, as-built drawings, and other relevant design and construction documents.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering various engineering projects that meet client expectations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 15 years of experience in engineering and consulting, with a primary focus on the wastewater municipal market.
  • Design, permitting, and construction experience with water and wastewater treatment systems, as well as distribution, conveyance, and pumping and storage facilities in Florida.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering, or a related field, is preferred.
  • Active participation in regional or national professional associations is highly desirable.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $113,933 - $193,686/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
