Principal Presales SAP Consultant
About the role
The Principal Presales SAP Solutions Consultant will act as a trusted advisor to North America SolEx Accounts Managers, collaborating to build the right ecosystem that maximizes BlackLine platform success. Working within the SolEx Accounts portfolio alongside the sales team, the role focuses on driving enhanced platform adoption, nurturing customer relationships, progressing key opportunities, and maximizing incremental license revenue. The Principal Presales SolEx Solutions Consultant also supports marketing, channels/alliances, and enablement teams to scale presale efforts by leveraging SAP and GSIs.
Responsibilities
- Engage on SolEx deals identified in the pipeline and SAP (Non SolEx) deals when assigned.
- Evaluate BlackLine resource needs and leverage knowledge of BlackLine and SolEx Accounts offerings to grow opportunities.
- Work with the BlackLine SolEx sales team to onboard new SolEx Accounts quickly and efficiently.
- Assist in positioning BlackLine value within SolEx Accounts’ key offers.
- Streamline knowledge sharing at the SolEx Accounts level across North America.
- Innovate and empower the BlackLine Solutions Consulting team on SolEx Accounts engagement.
- Answer technical software and accounting questions.
- Perform needs analysis calls with prospective clients to thoroughly understand their challenges.
- Maintain current knowledge of new product functionality and its proper use.
- Deliver relevant demonstrations of all BlackLine modules based on prospect needs.
- Complete ROI analyses for prospective clients.
- Assist with completion and review of RFPs and RFIs.
- Provide and review BlackLine best practices, use case scenarios, and client success stories to assist prospects with expanded use of application functionality.
- Prepare and deliver effective custom demonstrations using prospect data.
- Provide coverage, education, and application expertise by attending partner/client/prospect roundtables, conferences, and other events.
- Attend and participate in periodic local and global meetings and training sessions.
- Document relevant activities in Salesforce and other tools as assigned.
- Actively support the handover process to the implementation team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay
Salary range: $145,000.00 – $182,000.00. Placement within this range depends on prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine offers short-term and long-term incentive programs (based on eligibility) and a robust benefits and wellness plan. Compensation may include a variable incentive component such as an Incentive Compensation Plan (ICP) or On-Target Earnings (OTE), structured as a split model (e.g., 50/50, 70/30, or 60/40 between base salary and variable incentive).
