Principal, Power Systems & Data Centers - Impact Consulting

For our client, we are seeking a Principal, Power Systems & Data Centers - Impact Consulting to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will shape strategic advisory work at the intersection of data center growth, power systems, and the clean energy transition. The Principal will lead complex client engagements, develop structured approaches to challenging market questions, and translate analyses into clear executive recommendations. In addition, this person will engage senior stakeholders across industry and policy, helping the organization build influence and credibility in a rapidly evolving infrastructure landscape. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $139,823 – $172,332 annually Responsibilities Develop the team's theory of change for data centers to influence the energy transition Identify key barriers and leverage points to align data center growth with clean energy Engage with stakeholders and influence decisions from hyperscalers to policymakers Translate complex client questions into structured workstreams and actionable insights Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality project outputs Establish the organization as a thought leader on the intersection of data centers and energy infrastructure Shape and monitor market strategies, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders Qualifications 10+ years of experience in data centers or related sectors, with strategic experience Understanding of the data center ecosystem, including involvement with hyperscale or colocation development Strong knowledge of energy infrastructure, site selection, and sustainability Experience leading complex client engagements and influencing senior decision-makers Ability to synthesize complex analyses into executive recommendations Proficient in project management, including multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder expectations Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 403(b) retirement match with immediate vesting Fertility and hormonal health support Mental health and wellness resources Generous paid time off and sick leave Remote and hybrid work options Learning and development opportunities Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
