As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in defining and evolving standard practices and procedures. You will define and develop software for tasks associated with developing, designing, and debugging software applications or operating systems. Responsibilities

• Own the software design and development for major components of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure.
• Dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, and design broad distributed system interactions.
• Value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience with distributed systems within large-scale environments.
• Proficient in Java, C, or C++ and experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, etc.
• Experience working on large-scale, highly distributed services infrastructure.
• Experience working in an operational environment with mission-critical tier-one live-site servicing.
• Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive.
• Experience designing architectures that demonstrate deep technical depth in one area, or span many products, to enable high availability, scalability, market-leading features, and flexibility to meet future business demands.
• Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, and presentations).

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems fundamentals, and cloud-native development.
• Working familiarity with operating systems internals, networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP), and standard network architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.

Pay

Hiring range in USD: $114,600 to $234,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
