About the role

This position supports the development, build, and test validation of ruggedized electronic equipment for military applications. The candidate will work within the Hardware Engineering organization.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development, build, and test validation of ruggedized electronic equipment for military applications.
  • Works within the Hardware Engineering organization.
  • Serves on and typically leads engineering teams, interfacing heavily with other mechanical engineers and analysts, as well as engineers from related disciplines, program management, and customers/stakeholders.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience, Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, Ph.D. with 1 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • U.S Citizenship required.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S Government Secret Clearance prior to starting.
    • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.
    • A current/active clearance is not required to be considered for the position, but a final clearance is required to start.
    • 8 years of experience in design and development of ruggedized electro-mechanical and/or opto-mechanical hardware.
    • 8 years of experience with mechanical CAD design tools such as Siemens NX or similar.
    • 8 years of demonstrated application of innovative solutions to complex problems.
    • 8 years of experience leading and reviewing technical work products of peers.
    • 8 years of experience presenting at design reviews and customer/stakeholder briefings.

    Skills

    • Strong communication skills.
    • Expertise with thermal and structural analysis tools and methodologies.
    • Working knowledge of military and commercial process specifications that are relevant to the development and testing of electronics hardware for military applications.
    • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and ASME Y14 standards.
    • Demonstrated success leading others within an integrated product team (IPT), supporting the development of junior engineers and cross functional collaboration for overall project success.
    • Experience with project management metrics, including earned value management, to monitor and manage engineering budget and schedule requirements.
    • Experience in design, manufacturing, and integration of electronic assemblies including printed circuit board design, appropriate material selections and use of off the shelf components.
    • Experience contributing to technical and cost proposal development.
    • Leadership in process improvement or knowledge transfer (i.e. publication) activities.

    Pay

    $98,900.00 - $148,300.00 for the Primary Level, and $123,400.00 - $185,000.00 for the Secondary Level.

    Schedule

    Full-time, 40 hours per week.
