Brief Description

The principal role is a senior position focused on driving business development, cultivating and managing exceptional client experiences, and providing expert market access perspectives to internal teams and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development and account management in a B2B environment, with a particular focus on engaging with senior biopharma executives. This role is integral to building and maintaining strategic client relationships while delivering high-value market access insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development efforts to identify, pursue, and close new opportunities with biopharma clients.
  • Generate new and repeat business that exceeds $2M/year.
  • Develop account plans and strategies to deepen client relationships and generate additional engagement opportunities.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for clients during all projects, ensuring their needs are well-understood and expectations are managed and exceeded at every interaction.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with biopharma executives, leveraging industry expertise to influence and guide strategic decisions.
  • Provide expert market access perspectives in all engagements, ensuring deliverables align with the strategic business objectives of our clients.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, events, and client meetings to promote services and expand networks.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality client experiences by aligning internal resources and project deliverables with client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development or account management in a B2B environment, ideally within the biopharma or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of market access dynamics, including health plans, PBMs, and IDNs.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior-level executives in the biopharma industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and client retention targets.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strategic thinker with a solution-oriented mindset.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in formulary management, payer dynamics, and biopharma manufacturer interactions.
  • Familiarity with market research methodologies and tools.
  • Experience presenting at industry conferences or leading workshops.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
