Principal Maintenance Worker – School Ground Services- South

About the role

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and stocking of park restrooms
• Preparing picnic shelters for reservations
• School grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, litter control, and other general maintenance tasks via school work order system
• Performing physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting, walking, and prolonged standing
• Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external customers, contractors, and team members
• Communicating effectively

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years of experience in maintenance, general labor, or custodial work
• Or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Must be highly motivated, goal-driven, and a self-starter
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work well with others
• Must possess or obtain within nine months of employment, a Registered Technician Pesticide License
• Current valid driver's license and good driving record required
• Record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months
• Out of state driving records must be obtained by the applicant and presented at time of interview
• Record must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date

Pay

Salary is determined based on performance, qualifications, and experience, and funding permits.

Schedule

Monday - Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; some evenings, weekends, and holidays
