About the Role

PTC is seeking a Principal HR Technology Consultant to serve as a strategic partner to our various business functions and departments. This role sits at the intersection of technology, process design, and stakeholder consulting, helping ensure our Workday ecosystem supports scalable, efficient, and compliant People processes.

This is not a traditional HRIS administration role. We're looking for someone who can blend strong Workday functional expertise with business consulting and stakeholder partnership. The ideal candidate understands how to evaluate requests through both a technical and organizational lens, balancing system capabilities, user experience, process impact, and long-term sustainability.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Business Partnership — Serve as the primary HR Technology partner for assigned business functions, with an initial focus on Talent Acquisition and the flexibility to support evolving business priorities across the organization. Act as the primary HR Technology partner for assigned business functions, helping stakeholders identify priorities and define technology roadmaps. Lead recurring monthly and quarterly stakeholder meetings to review business priorities, discuss enhancement requests, and align on future needs. Translate business challenges into scalable technology and process solutions.
  • Workday & Process Optimization — Evaluate project and enhancement requests to determine whether system changes, process changes, reporting solutions, or alternative approaches best address business needs. Partner with Centers of Excellence (COEs) to document future-state processes and ensure alignment between business requirements and technology capabilities. Configure and optimize Workday functionality across Talent Acquisition and other HR domains as needed. Troubleshoot system issues and drive solutions through root-cause analysis. Provide guidance on Workday best practices, system capabilities, and the long-term implications of configuration decisions.
  • Delivery — Support the evaluation, planning, testing, and implementation of Workday enhancements, leading test strategy, execution, validation, and user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet business requirements. Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, COEs, IT, and global stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions, facilitate alignment, and support integrations, enhancements, and technical issue resolution. Maintain compliance with governance, security, and audit requirements while promoting best practices, data integrity, and scalable, sustainable solutions aligned with enterprise standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong consulting, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • 5+ years experience supporting Workday in multiple modules, Talent Acquisition and Talent modules a bonus but not required.
  • Experience configuring and optimizing Workday functionality.
  • Strong understanding of HR business processes.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable system solutions.
  • Experience conducting testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
  • Demonstrated success influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and balance competing priorities.
  • Experience working across global, matrixed organizations.

Success in This Role

The person who thrives in this role:

  • Thinks like a consultant, not an administrator.
  • Can independently take ownership of ambiguous challenges and drive them to resolution.
  • Understands both the technical and human side of system changes.
  • Can explain complex Workday concepts in simple business language.
  • Builds credibility with stakeholders.
  • Brings recommendations, not just answers.
  • Considers process, adoption, compliance, and user experience before making system changes.
  • Is comfortable taking a problem, leveraging available resources, and driving a solution with minimal direction.

Pay & Benefits

  • Anticipated annual salary range: $115,000–$140,000.
  • Eligibility for a performance-based bonus.
  • Employee share purchase program (ESPP) allowing purchase of discounted PTC stock.
  • Eligibility for participation in equity programs for certain roles.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off and sick leave.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
  • 401(k) contributions and employer match.
  • Flexible spending accounts.
  • Life insurance and disability coverage.
  • Generous commuter subsidy for office-assigned employees.
