About the role

The HR Business Partner team serves as a strategic consulting function that partners closely with leaders across Nintendo of America to align talent, organizational, and workforce strategies with business goals. As a Principal HR Business Partner, you will support a dynamic portfolio of client groups and serve as a key thought partner to leaders, helping them navigate complex people challenges while driving organizational effectiveness and long-term business success. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking and practical execution, with the ability to build strong relationships, influence decision-making, and deliver solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, leveraging HR expertise and business acumen to align people strategies with organizational goals.
  • Understand senior leadership's perspective and client's core functions and related interdependencies, and make recommendations to drive results in service to the organization's immediate, short, and mid-term plans.
  • Skillfully leverage the functions and intersecting disciplines of the HR organization and related services and products available to the workforce.
  • Own and lead research, build and deliver realistic solutions, methods, and tools independently or in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and employees, serving as a trusted advisor and influencer.
  • Effectively communicate, facilitate discussions, and moderate complex conversations to drive alignment and positive outcomes.
  • Consistently influence the best in others and interact effectively and credibly.
  • Skillfully influence adoption of resources, policies, and practices.
  • Own, lead, or contribute to projects that reflect and advance company and team priorities, vision, purpose, and values.
  • Leverage advanced experience to plan initiatives and deliver solutions addressing people and future planning needs of the business.
  • Skillfully lead clients and partners to make informed decisions through analysis and recommendations that resolve novel problems with little or no precedent.
  • Investigate concerns and create solutions that mitigate risk for the organization.
  • May directly manage and lead the performance of others. Deliver results through self, team, and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in multiple HR disciplines, including designing, developing, and executing company-wide HR strategies, talent staffing, learning and development, succession planning, performance management, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and team development.
  • Experience leading and executing projects and change management initiatives.
  • Technical and functional knowledge of state and federal employment labor laws, workers’ compensation, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, benefit programs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to coach and advise senior leaders on organizational effectiveness, leadership effectiveness, talent decisions, employee engagement, and change management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in workforce planning, succession planning, organizational design, and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build long-term trusted relationships.
  • Experience supporting technical client groups, including software engineering, product development, technology, R&D, or other highly specialized workforces preferred.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into talent and organizational strategies within technical environments preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • PHR highly desired; SPHR or GPHR a plus.

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

Pay

$120,900—$217,650 USD
