Position Overview

We are seeking a Principal to lead Apollo's Fund Liquidity Management function within Global Corporate Credit (GCC), based in New York.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end management of existing ABL financing facilities across GCC, with a strong focus on Direct Lending, optimizing facility usage, financing strategy, and fund-level liquidity across funds and SMAs.
  • Drive platform-wide leverage and portfolio-level liquidity strategy, providing PMs with proactive analysis and recommendations on optimal financing mix, cost of funds, and capacity positioning across the credit platform.
  • Oversee liquidity risk management across the fund complex, anticipating cash needs, unfunded commitment exposure, and redemption pressures and developing frameworks to ensure adequate liquidity under a range of market conditions.
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Finance Solutions and other stakeholders to optimize the cost, structure, and utilization of financing across vehicles and strategies, spanning a range of facility types.
  • Partner with senior investment leadership to integrate financing strategy into top-down portfolio construction decisions, including capital deployment planning, leverage strategy, and financing readiness for new vehicle launches.
  • Build and maintain the consolidated liquidity forecasting framework across all credit strategies, standardizing definitions and metrics so that all stakeholders are working off a common view of available cash, deployable capital, and facility capacity.
  • Lead financing reporting and analytics for internal and external stakeholders, including LP-facing materials, senior management dashboards, and regulatory or lender reporting, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the platform.
  • Build and develop the Fund Financing team, hiring and mentoring junior team members on financing operations, liquidity modeling, and cross-platform processes while serving as the subject matter expert and escalation point for complex financing matters across the credit strategies.
  • Coordinate closely with the Securities Financing desk on excess margin optimization, new PB setups, and integrated financing cost analysis across ABL and PB channels.
  • Implement technology-enabled workflows across the financing and liquidity function, identifying opportunities to automate facility monitoring, liquidity forecasting, and reporting through better tooling and data infrastructure.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7–12 years of experience in fund financing, credit facility management, treasury, portfolio finance, or a comparable role at a large-scale credit asset manager, bank lending group, or fund finance practice, with a track record of managing ABL facilities, leverage programs, and liquidity across multiple funds or vehicles.
  • Deep knowledge of credit facility structures including asset-backed lending facilities, subscription lines, NAV facilities, with practical experience managing borrowing bases, covenant compliance, advance rates, and facility utilization.
  • Strong commercial judgment and experience advising portfolio managers or investment teams on leverage strategy, financing mix, cost of funds optimization, and capital deployment planning across a multi-strategy credit platform.
  • Prior experience operating in a high-touch environment with senior PMs and business leadership, with strong communication skills, clear ownership, sound prioritization instincts, and the ability to balance immediate business needs with building a longer-term platform and team.
  • Experience building and leading small teams, with the ability to hire, develop, and delegate effectively — this role will build a new function from the ground up and requires someone who can both do the work and scale it through others.
  • Education in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field. CFA, CPA, or advanced degree is a plus but not required with strong relevant experience.
