Job Description

The position requires the individual to work closely with senior faculty to ensure the educational program meets and exceeds the Accreditation Standards set forth by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant. For clinically practicing PAs, four days within the Physician Assistant Program and the fifth for clinical practice or professional advancement and contribution will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with ARC-PA standards and New York State Office of the Professions requirements, including participation in accreditation reports, self-study activities, and program analysis.
  • Teach and/or evaluate instruction in core and professional courses as assigned by the Director.
  • Aid in the design, implementation, coordination, and ongoing review of the curriculum, including course syllabi, instructional materials, and learning objectives.
  • Participate in the Physician Assistant Program admissions process.
  • Deliver student instruction and evaluate student performance.
  • Provide academic advising to students and coordinate remedial instruction when needed.
  • Serve on the Curriculum and Academic Affairs Committee and other program or University committees as approved by the Director.
  • Maintain detailed records of student engagement, progress, and outcomes for institutional tracking.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to student remediation and academic progression.
  • Stay current with best practices in remediation, learning theory, and educational intervention strategies.

Requirements

  • Two years of clinical experience and Master's degree are preferred.
  • Experience in remediation and student success preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications Required: Current NCCPA Certification, State of New York PA license or New York State PA license eligible.
