About the role

The Principal Faculty will be responsible for the development and implementation of courses for the pre-clinical portion of the PA program. They will collaborate in the development of curriculum, assessment, and advising. Additionally, they will recruit, develop, and retain qualified instructional faculty, participate in the accreditation process, and report to the Director of the PA program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement pre-clinical courses for the PA program
  • Collaborate in curriculum development, assessment, and advising
  • Recruit, develop, and retain qualified instructional faculty
  • Participate in the accreditation process
  • Report to the Director of the PA program

Requirements

  • At least a Master’s degree from an accredited university, preferably a Doctoral degree
  • At least 1 year of teaching experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in Physician Assistant education
  • Ongoing research agenda
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Current unrestricted licensure (or eligibility, if applicable) to practice in the State of California
  • Ability to network and interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, and clinical partners and preceptors
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education, healthcare, and community engagement

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in a related field
  • Excellent oral, written, and computer skills
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Skills

  • Knowledge of curriculum and course development
  • PA-C involvement in professional organizations related to the physician assistant profession and PA education
  • Knowledge of ARC-PA standards
  • Commitment to community service and diversity
