Principal, Enterprise Growth
About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal, Enterprise Growth based in the United States. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on accelerating enterprise growth and new client acquisition across North America.
Responsibilities
- Own annual North American net new revenue targets exceeding $10M, maintaining disciplined oversight of pipeline health, deal velocity, forecasting, qualification, and conversion.
- Personally originate, qualify, develop, and close complex enterprise opportunities from initial engagement through contract execution.
- Build and activate senior relationships with CMOs, marketing executives, transformation leaders, consultants, and other enterprise decision-makers.
- Lead C-suite conversations that uncover strategic priorities, business challenges, transformation initiatives, and opportunities for long-term partnership.
- Position integrated marketing, media, creative, data, and technology capabilities as solutions to complex enterprise growth challenges.
- Develop and execute a focused territory and account-based strategy designed to generate high-value opportunities across North America.
- Structure, negotiate, and close sophisticated commercial agreements, including scope, pricing, commercial terms, performance metrics, and partnership models.
- Navigate procurement, legal, finance, and executive decision-making processes with persistence and strong commercial judgment.
- Partner closely with sales colleagues to coordinate account intelligence, pursuit strategies, opportunity development, and deal execution.
- Work with Finance to maintain margin discipline while pursuing ambitious revenue and growth objectives.
- Leverage CRM, SDR/outbound resources, sales processes, and existing infrastructure effectively while maintaining ownership of personal pipeline generation.
- Build relationships within the consultancy and pitch-consultant ecosystem to increase access to strategic enterprise opportunities.
- Travel across North America as needed to develop executive relationships, advance opportunities, participate in pitches, and strengthen market presence.
- Establish repeatable enterprise pursuit practices, including qualification criteria, commercial frameworks, negotiation approaches, and account strategies.
- Deliver measurable first-year outcomes through qualified pipeline development, enterprise revenue generation, improved conversion quality, and stronger executive-level market access.
Requirements
- Demonstrated senior-level experience in marketing, advertising, media, creative, data, technology, consulting, or an adjacent professional services environment.
- Proven track record originating and closing enterprise-scale engagements, ideally in the $5M–$15M range.
- Clear experience carrying an individual quota, owning a personal book of business, and independently generating pipeline rather than relying primarily on inherited opportunities.
- Strong “hunter” mentality with experience using multiple new-business channels, including strategic outbound, relationship-driven networking, referrals, and differentiated market-access strategies.
- Established network of senior industry contacts, particularly CMOs, senior marketing leaders, transformation executives, and other enterprise decision-makers.
- Experience navigating complex enterprise sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, procurement teams, legal functions, consultants, and executive sponsors.
- Strong CRM discipline and hands-on experience managing opportunity stages, qualification, forecasting, pipeline hygiene, and sales reporting.
- Familiarity with the consultancy, pitch-consultant, and broader enterprise marketing-services ecosystem, or the ability to quickly establish credibility within these networks.
- Deep understanding of how agencies, media organizations, in-house marketing teams, and marketing operations functions operate, including budget ownership, stakeholder dynamics, organizational politics, and transformation priorities.
- Strong understanding of AI-driven changes in marketing, including automation, personalization at scale, creative intelligence, and the convergence of brand and performance marketing.
- Experience helping enterprise clients navigate organizational or capability transformation, including operating-model redesign, technology implementation, or broader business transformation.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience shaping RFP strategies, managing procurement processes, structuring complex agreements, and balancing margin protection with long-term partnership value.
- Exceptional executive presence, communication, listening, preparation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- High level of autonomy, curiosity, resilience, persistence, and personal credibility in senior client environments.
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment with evolving priorities.
- Willingness and ability to travel across North America as business needs require.
