About the role

The Principal Engineer - Work Profiles at ID.me is responsible for developing and maintaining the software infrastructure that supports the company's work profile management system. This includes designing scalable systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring high availability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions for work profile management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and interoperability of work profile data.
• Optimize existing systems to improve performance and reduce downtime.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the work profile management system through regular testing and code reviews.
• Participate in code reviews and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend development.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of database design and optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products.
• Experience with agile methodologies and version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Pay

Annual base salary range for the Principal Engineer - Work Profiles position in Mountain View, CA is $214,972 - $307,125 USD.

Schedule

This role requires an in-office presence five days per week at one of ID.me's offices in McLean, VA; Mountain View, CA; New York City, NY; or Tampa, FL.
