Principal Engineer - Plant Layout

About the role
As a Principal Engineer - Plant Layout you will be responsible for nuclear plant site layout, equipment, piping & HVAC layout, seismic interaction assessments, internal/external missile assessments, fuel handling and material handling equipment & tooling design, commodity clearance evaluations, flooding evaluations and other hazard protection evaluations. You will provide broad-ranging experience of advanced nuclear plant designs including interfaces with systems, equipment, structures, and physical plant arrangement. This position is hybrid in nature at the discretion of the manager, typically requiring 2-3 days/week on-site. You may be able to work hybrid in other Westinghouse locations in the US.
Responsibilities
- Plan the task and schedule the work for a given task/activity
- Provide technical oversight of the work (including technical reviews of work products – from a process or usability type view)
- Have a questioning attitude and challenge assumptions
- Provide technical coordination between different areas related to the tasks to avoid technical conflicts
- Lead responses for requests for additional information from internal and external customers
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil/Structural/Architectural or Mechanical Engineer)
- At least 6 years of experience
- Experience in use of 3D modeling software to assess physical equipment arrangements and develop site layout plot plans
- Visual and spatial design skills
Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
