Principal Electrical Engineer
About the role
Lead the development of advanced power and data management architectures for head borne systems. You'll work at the intersection of high-bandwidth, low-latency video distribution for enhanced night vision devices and next-generation smart battery pack design — shaping the electrical backbone of our helmet-mounted platforms to ensure efficient power delivery, robust data pathways, and seamless integration across mission-critical technologies. You'll own new product development, execute roadmap architectures, drive continuous improvements, mentor engineers, and shape best practices across the facility.
Responsibilities
- Propose and own electrical architectures for new product development
- Create and release electronic assembly data packages for PCB and system manufacturing
- Develop system block diagrams and schematics for manufacturing support equipment
- Mentor junior engineers, designers, and technicians on electrical design and development
- Partner with business development on proof-of-concept prototypes
- Create test plans, coordinate validation testing, and generate qualification reports
- Support field failure analysis and address quality concerns or product changes
- Manage the electrical component database for new designs
- Support supply chain and manufacturing during new product transitions to production
- Contribute to cost estimation and cost reduction efforts for new projects
- Record, analyze, and interpret test data using appropriate statistical techniques
- Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations
- Report regularly on project status, flagging variances from baseline
Requirements
- B.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent related experience
- 10 years’ plus experience with electrical design in a new product and/or support in a manufacturing environment required
