About the role
As a Principal Data Science Engineer on the Verizon Consumer AI & Analytics team, you will transform raw data into strategic intelligence that shapes customer behaviors and market trends for the Verizon Consumer Group. You’ll architect products and assets supporting the Consumer Sales Organization, Sales Planning & Operations, and Consumer Base Marketing by developing and performing complex analyses using big data technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-scale systems, applications, and advanced visual dashboards using Big Data technologies.
- Design and refine predictive models to solve complex business questions and improve operational predictability.
- Extract actionable insights from massive datasets to drive revenue and customer retention.
- Guide peers through system usage assessments.
- Lead process improvement initiatives and ensure rigorous data quality standards.
- Apply sophisticated UI/UX design principles to data visualization.
- Stay at the forefront of modeling techniques and emerging industry trends to keep Verizon’s analytics ecosystem competitive.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in data management, analysis, and visualization.
- Experience with Looker & Qlik or similar visual analysis tools, optimization, analytics, and large datasets.
- Experience with data modeling using LookML in the Looker platform.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Big Query / Vertex AI / Looker / LookML / Looker Studio Pro).
- Experience as a data scientist, analyst, or statistical modeler.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience designing, developing, and implementing ETL processes.
Qualifications
- A master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Economics/Econometrics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Operations Research.
- Hands-on experience leveraging Claude to streamline daily technical work.
- Experience designing, building, and deploying production-grade agentic AI solutions.
- Experience using React to build responsive, dynamic data dashboards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Retail Channel metrics and data domain principles.
- Experience in visual science/dashboard design principles.
- Experience applying statistical ideas and methods to data sets to answer business problems.
- Experience with programming languages like Python, JS, or R.
- Experience with Machine Learning algorithms and tools.
Schedule
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office, with the work location set by your manager. Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Pay
The annual salary range for this full-time role is $120,500.00 - $231,000.00, depending on location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive-based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, compensation will be adjusted to reflect hours worked.
