Principal Coordinator, Security Operations Specialist I, Global Workplace Services
About the Role
As a Principal Coordinator, Security Operations Specialist, you’ll carry out day-to-day activities in the Global Security Operation Center (GSOC). The GSOC is our 24/7 security and intelligence function that evaluates and reports on hazards and threats to the company including but not limited to natural disasters, terror attacks, civil unrest, workplace violence, facility intrusion and others.
This position works rotating shifts that may include weekends, holidays, evenings and overnight shifts. This role's hours are expected to be 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Central, including weekends, and is subject to change with the needs of the business.

Responsibilities
- Intake of critical response communications
- Respond to calls for equipment service and information about security-related technology systems, which includes, but is not limited to, phone, email, and emergency mass notification tools
- Monitor and respond to security alarms utilizing the alarm monitoring tools themselves, or cameras and various intelligence resources in order to identify and resolve physical security threats
- Synthesize large amounts of information quickly
- Create a comprehensive documented record of security-related incidents
- Coordinate routine and critical incident communications
- Understand the proper use of security-related tools and procedures
- Implement access control procedures
- Assist with physical security validations for our partners and vendors
- Support general security, first responder, and law enforcement engagement and response to incidents
- Escalate to supervisors when appropriate
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in one or more of these fields: Law enforcement, Military, Corporate Security, Business Continuity, Risk, Emergency Management, or Customer Service
- At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office or Google Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher
- 3+ years of experience in the security field
- 3+ years of Security Operations Center or emergency communications experience

Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
- Riverwoods, IL: $56,800 - $64,800 for Principal Coordinator, Security Services
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
