Principal, Business Strategy, Portfolio & Pricing
About the role
TurboTax is Intuit's flagship consumer product and the market leader in tax preparation software. As a Principal Business Strategist for Portfolio & Pricing, you will sit at the center of some of the most consequential decisions the Consumer Group makes each year: how we design, price, and bring our products to market. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role spanning business model strategy, pricing, SKU architecture, and go-to-market planning. You will partner closely with Product, Finance, Analytics, Marketing, and Legal to translate strategy into decisions that directly drive revenue, customer outcomes, and competitive positioning — owning your work from initial framing through execution.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the annual product lineup and business model strategy for TurboTax, establishing the framework that guides pricing, packaging, and go-to-market decisions across the Consumer Group
- Own end-to-end pricing strategy — setting direction, managing in-season execution, and building a rigorous test-and-learn roadmap to continuously improve how we price our products
- Lead SKU and entitlements strategy, serving as the authoritative source of truth on product structure and ensuring alignment across Product, Finance, and operational teams ahead of each season
- Partner deeply with senior leaders across Product, Analytics, Finance, and Marketing to shape strategy, influence decisions, and drive outcomes — operating effectively without direct authority
- Translate complex, ambiguous problems into clear frameworks and recommendations that move the business forward
Requirements
Experience
- 8+ years in strategy, business operations, product strategy, or consulting roles in high-growth technology environments
- SaaS or consumer technology experience strongly preferred; fintech or B2C product experience a plus
- Prior experience in pricing strategy, business model design, or GTM planning is highly valued
Strategy & Analytical Strength
- Strong structured problem-solving and ability to define choices — comfortable navigating multi-stakeholder complexity and ambiguity
- Ability to distill insights from quantitative and qualitative data and construct a clear, compelling narrative for senior leadership
- Demonstrated experience developing business cases, pricing models, and frameworks that drive decisions
Execution & Ownership
- Track record of putting points on the board — identifying opportunities, driving alignment, resolving blockers, and landing outcomes
- Extreme ownership mindset; moves naturally between long-term strategy and short-term execution
- Proven ability to manage a portfolio of active workstreams with rigor and discipline
Communication & Influence
- Executive-level written and verbal communication skills; able to simplify complexity and influence at scale
- Comfortable serving as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders and driving decisions without direct authority
- Strong storytelling instincts — knows how to frame tradeoffs clearly and build alignment across diverse stakeholders
