Job Summary
Palo Alto Networks IT is seeking a Principal Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to revolutionize the post-sale customer experience. As the Technical Services lead, you will architect tools for Professional Services and Customer Success teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Blueprinting (Service Delivery): Develop future-state concepts for Professional Services and Customer Success. Lead the 'as-is' to 'to-be' transition for PSA (Clarizen) and CSM (Gainsight) tools.
Organizational Impact: Address high-stakes issues impacting the functional organization. Identify and resolve technical gaps that inhibit global productivity.
AI-Augmented Prototyping: Use AI-assisted tools to create 'Living Specs'—functional prototypes validated before reaching development.
Agentic Process Design: Architect 'Agent-Native' solutions to automate tasks like resource forecasting, health scoring, and project risk mitigation.
Independent Execution: Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches for special assignments. Define your own project milestones.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Establish and lead diverse teams across Sales Ops, Finance, and Support. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Technical Services IT organization to executive decision-makers.
Data Stewardship: Partner with data teams to ensure Clarizen, Gainsight, and SFDC data is 'AI-Ready.' Define data acquisition and transformation requirements.
Mentorship & Quality: Drive the evolution of the BSA team. Mentor senior BSAs on transitioning from 'Scarcity Management' to 'Independent Innovation Velocity' using AI tools.
Qualifications
Expert Domain Knowledge: Deep expertise in major PSA/CSM platforms (Gainsight, Planview, FinancialForce, ChurnZero).
Experience Tier: 12+ years of related experience (Bachelor’s), 8+ years (Master’s), or 5+ years (PhD).
Technical Agency: A 'Builder' mindset. Ability to validate API logic, mock up UIs, or simulate data flows independently.
Agile Mastery: Deep experience leading Agile/Scrum teams, focusing on 'Time-to-Validation' over 'User Stories Written.'
Ecosystem Expertise: Advanced understanding of Salesforce (SFDC) architecture and integration with specialized service delivery platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
From Documentation to Execution: Prefers a functional demo over a 50-page document. Thrives in environments where building to learn is valued.
Innovation Velocity: Drives disruptive solutions treating AI as a core differentiator.
Communication: Excellent collaboration skills influencing at the executive level through clear, data-backed, and prototype-supported narratives.
Industry Context: Previous experience in a high-growth cybersecurity or SaaS environment.
Technical Background: Software development or systems engineering background is a significant plus.
Data Proficiency: Experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to drive architectural decisions.
Compensation
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below.
