About the role
The Assistant Principal position at Tulsa Public Schools is responsible for supporting the principal in managing the daily operations of the school, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment, and providing leadership and guidance to staff.
Responsibilities
- Supports the principal in implementing district policies and procedures
- Maintains a safe and positive school climate
- Manages student discipline and behavior issues
- Supervises and evaluates teachers and staff
- Plans and implements professional development activities
- Collaborates with parents and community members to support student success
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years successful teaching experience
- Two (2) years of educational leadership experience
- Two (2) years of experience with personnel recruitment, selection, training, management, labor relations, and supervision
- Previous experience in an urban school setting preferred
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an urban school setting preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Google proficiency
