Principal, AI Strategy & Engineering Transformation

This role will drive strategic priorities, executive-level problem solving, and cross-functional execution on initiatives that matter most to the business in the Aerospace & Defense space. You will partner with senior leaders and teams across the organization to clarify priorities, coordinate complex work, and turn strategic decisions into measurable action.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain strategy and investment priorities for AI-assisted software engineering
• Evaluate AI tools for capability, security, compliance, and fit within workflows
• Design and validate AI-assisted workflows for various development tasks
• Build solutions using AI tooling, scripting, and developer integrations
• Identify manual work and opportunities for automation in existing workflows
• Run structured pilots with engineering teams to test AI integrations and scale decisions
• Establish governance and practical patterns for responsible AI usage

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in software engineering or enterprise technology transformation
• Hands-on experience building AI-assisted workflows and prototypes using modern AI tools
• Strong understanding of the software delivery lifecycle and secure coding practices
• Ability to use programming, APIs, and automation tools for rapid prototyping
• Proven experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing without direct authority
• Excellent communication skills, translating technical evidence into executive recommendations
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data or AI, or related field

Pay

$150,000 – $220,000 annually
