About the role
We manage complex projects across various disciplines and operating areas. This includes overseeing cross-functional teams and working with contract resources. You'll be directly responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage large and complex projects using established project management principles and techniques.
- Directly accountable for project execution and meeting or exceeding project objectives within a given timeframe and with limited resources.
- Communicate with the project sponsor and key stakeholders, including executive-level presentations.
- Acquire and manage contract resources, participate in the contractor selection process, prepare contact requisitions, approve change orders, and evaluate contractor performance.
- Lead and coach project teams to improve performance and meet or exceed expectations.
- Lead and communicate with the project sponsor and key stakeholders on project issues, including executive level presentations.
- Manage scope, budget, and schedule to within approved parameters and provide structured and detailed reports to the appropriate management team.
- Perform backup role for Manager Project Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 7-10 years relevant project management or related experience, OR 9-12 years relevant project management or related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or achieve PMP within two years of job entry.
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience managing large, complex projects using project management techniques including: A. Planning and Control, B. Issue and Risk Management, C. Project Management Tools, D. Business Case Development, E. Progress Reporting.
- Proven leadership ability in a high-performance culture.
- Demonstrated ability to build consensus, communicate effectively, engage others in the required processes, and hold people accountable.
- Valid driver's license and access to an automobile.
