Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) - UNC Primary Care at Freedom Square
About the role
UNC Primary Care at Freedom Square is seeking an experienced Primary Care Physician to join their growing primary care team. Located off Green Level Church Road in Apex, NC, the clinic provides comprehensive, family-centered care with convenient access for both families and working professionals.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive preventive healthcare
- Manage acute and chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and asthma
- Offer routine screening and diagnostic testing
- Address mental health needs within a primary care setting
- Perform annual physicals and wellness visits
- Administer immunizations
- Provide women's health services
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Active, unrestricted North Carolina medical license (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Strong interest in caring for medically complex adult patients
- Demonstrated experience and interest in addressing mental health needs within a primary care setting
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of medicine
- North Carolina Medical License
- DEA License
- BLS/ACLS certification preferred
- Board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Skills
High-level quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills are essential to diagnose medical and clinical issues presented by patients.

Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
Licensure/Certification Requirements: North Carolina physician license. BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. DEA;ACLS;MD Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: Language Skills: Should be able to communicate proficiently in English. REASONING ABILITY: High-level quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills are essential to diagnose medical and clinical issues presented by patients. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: North Carolina Medical License, DEA License, BLS/ACLS certification preferred.
