Primary Care Physician | Lake Norman area
About the role
Novant Health is expanding primary care services to the Lake Norman community with a new office in Sherrills Ford, NC, opening in late 2026. This opportunity is ideal for a Primary Care Physician (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) looking to join a brand new practice with a team of one physician, one APP, and top-tier staff, supported by Novant Health leadership. Additional providers will be added as the practice grows.
The office will operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with minimal call duties, emphasizing work/life balance. Sherrills Ford offers suburban living with access to outdoor amenities at Lake Norman, including boating, fishing, swimming, and lakefront dining, as well as proximity to Charlotte for urban conveniences like professional sports, museums, theater, and an international airport.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a patient panel to stay connected to the day-to-day practice of medicine.
- Collaborate in a team-based care model that may include PAs, NPs, clinical pharmacy practitioners, health behaviorists, and clinical RNs.
- Utilize same-day access, extended hours, e-visits, and video visits to deliver care where and when patients need it.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.
- Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program.
- Current MD or DO license in North Carolina.
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Current DEA license.
