Overview

Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is a multi-clinic network providing integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we regularly receive national awards from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

Responsibilities

  • Provides high quality, evidence-based comprehensive outpatient primary care for an assigned patient panel consistent with their specialty training (e.g. Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine) and privileging.
  • Conducts routine preventive care, acute and urgent care, and follow up care for the management of chronic health conditions.
  • Provides consultation to mid-level practitioners working at the clinic consistent with their medical specialty.
  • Participates in quality management activities as assigned by the Medical Director.
  • Participates in the direction and development of health care services provided by Marin Community Clinics as a member of the primary health care team.
  • Works a minimum of three (3) 4-hour Saturday shifts per calendar year, providing medical care to patients within the standard scope of practice.
  • Available to respond to after-hour calls regarding critical lab results for adult patients throughout the organization for a minimum of 2 weeks per year.

Qualifications

  • Family Medicine Doctor with three (3-5) years of clinical experience which may include residency in a directly related medical field.
  • Valid and unrestricted license issued by the Medical Board of California to practice medicine.
  • Board certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty.
  • Current registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) allowing the prescription of controlled substances.
  • Prior work experience in outpatient health care setting - Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is desired.
  • EPIC Electronic Health Records (EHR) experiences a plus.
  • Maintains Continued Medical Education (CME) as required for certification renewals.

Requirements

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Able to see an average of 18-22 patients per full 8 hour day of clinic.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
  • Able to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Able to mentor, provide advice, and train clinical professionals, PA's/NP's and/or students in area of expertise.
  • Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay

Min USD $243,693.00/Yr. Max USD $286,000.00/Yr.

Schedule

Regularly scheduled shifts, with additional requirements for Saturday shifts and after-hour calls.
