Primary Care-Lead Medical Assistant

Duties and responsibilities

  • Works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way.
  • Pairs with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.
  • All competency completed for Advanced Medical Assistant.
  • Certification(s): BLS (Basic Life Support).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: Caregiver with previous documented Medical Assistant experience of at least two years.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

  • Quality Performance Metrics Champion-anticipates patterns and links to issues and looks beyond immediate problem to the wider implications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Knowledge of common outpatient procedures and equipment.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth.
  • Knowledge of varying differences and behaviors among populations served.

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
