About the role

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant Lead to work onsite at our Primary and Specialty Care practice located at 2 Corporation Way in Peabody, MA. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm, with staggered shifts during that time frame.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in complex office-based procedures and provides clinical oversight for quality control programs.
  • Provides leadership to the medical assisting team, including training, mentoring, and performance guidance.
  • Assigns tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring proper workload distribution and effective utilization of resources.
  • Fosters a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
  • Carefully coordinates patient flow, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of care.
  • Assists with patient intake, including obtaining medical history, vital signs, and preparing patients for examination.
  • Participates in the interview process for new MAs and serves as a preceptor for new hires or students, supervising clinic support staff and creating coverage schedules for the MA team.
  • Assists with competency assessment for other MAs and provides input on performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Licenses and Credentials: Certified Medical Assistant required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a medical assistant, with demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred.

  • Comfortable with direct communication and frequent, real-time feedback.
  • Enjoys taking ownership, anticipating needs, and keeping the day on track.
  • Confident partnering with providers and guiding daily clinic flow.
  • Views indirect work (in-basket, follow-ups, coordination) as essential, not secondary.
  • Wants to be recognized as a key driver of clinic success, not just support.
