About the role
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant Lead to work onsite at our Primary and Specialty Care practice located at 2 Corporation Way in Peabody, MA. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm, with staggered shifts during that time frame.
Responsibilities
- Assists in complex office-based procedures and provides clinical oversight for quality control programs.
- Provides leadership to the medical assisting team, including training, mentoring, and performance guidance.
- Assigns tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring proper workload distribution and effective utilization of resources.
- Fosters a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
- Carefully coordinates patient flow, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of care.
- Assists with patient intake, including obtaining medical history, vital signs, and preparing patients for examination.
- Participates in the interview process for new MAs and serves as a preceptor for new hires or students, supervising clinic support staff and creating coverage schedules for the MA team.
- Assists with competency assessment for other MAs and provides input on performance evaluations.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Licenses and Credentials: Certified Medical Assistant required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a medical assistant, with demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks.
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred.
Skills
- Comfortable with direct communication and frequent, real-time feedback.
- Enjoys taking ownership, anticipating needs, and keeping the day on track.
- Confident partnering with providers and guiding daily clinic flow.
- Views indirect work (in-basket, follow-ups, coordination) as essential, not secondary.
- Wants to be recognized as a key driver of clinic success, not just support.
