Primary Care Assistant MA or LPN - Northwest Family

Full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 am–5 pm.

About the role

Prepares patient for visit with provider by completing Advanced Standard room process including:

  • Entering the chief complaint
  • Taking patient vital signs
  • Reviewing patient history and allergies
  • Completing a thorough medication reconciliation
  • Working the Encounter Guide to close open care gaps (fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, diabetic eye exams)
  • Rechecking elevated blood pressures
  • Completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits

Assists with in-office testing such as drawing blood, mental status exams, EKGs, walking oxygen studies, and point-of-care testing. Administers vaccines and other injections within scope of practice. Schedules follow-up appointments per office policy. Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.

Requirements

Medical Assistant

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire
  • Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office

Certified Medical Assistant

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification: Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic is also accepted; must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
  • Licensure: Active LPN license in Oklahoma
  • Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience preferred, particularly in a primary care office
