About the role

We are seeking a warm and engaging Primary Additional School Care (ASC) Assistant to support our robust after-school program by applying Montessori principles and fostering collaboration, independence, and environmental care. The role involves maintaining a home-like setting with seasonal art, games, books, and outdoor movement activities, encouraging children to function as a cohesive mixed-age after-school community.

Responsibilities include consistent supervision, collaboration with the ASC lead, and support for maintaining a clean and organized environment. Additional duties involve conducting the morning playground safety check and setup, as well as providing afternoon support during class lunch and nap time.

Schedule

  • 10-month school calendar year (mid-August through mid-June) with paid breaks during the school year
  • Optional four-week summer camp employment opportunities available during summer months
  • Full-time, non-exempt position (37.5 hours/week)
  • Monday - Friday, 10:30 am - 6:00 pm
  • Start Date: August 10, 2026

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 ECE units, including Child Development and Child, Family & Community
  • At least six months' experience working with young children
  • Kind, joyful attitude with a desire to learn on the job
  • A collaborative and flexible approach to working with colleagues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds

Qualifications (Ideal)

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Knowledge of Montessori pedagogy
