School Age Care Assistant

About the role

Under supervision, assist in planning and supervising the activities of school-aged children enrolled in an extended-day child care program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and supervising activities for school-aged children in an extended-day child care program.

Requirements

Any combination equivalent to:

• Graduation from high school.
• Training in early childhood education is desirable.
• Experience and/or training in preschool or early child care programs.

Candidate must also meet ONE of the following requirements:

• Two years of college (48 units).
• A.A. Degree (or higher).
• Passage of the CBEST exam.
• Pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction.

Schedule

• Oak Mesa Elementary (2 positions):
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 1:45 PM – 5:45 PM (4.2 hours/day).
  • Tuesday: 12:45 PM – 5:45 PM (5 hours/day).
• Grace Miller (1 position):
  • Monday: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM (5 hours).
  • Tuesday – Friday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (4.2 hours/day).

Pay

Pay range: $18.97 – $22.99 per hour.
