About the Role
The Pricing Analyst develops accurate and timely job quotes to retain existing business and grow sales. This position collaborates closely with Sales, Account Management, Planning Engineers, Schedulers, Purchasing, Pre-Media Graphics, Sourcing, Accounting, and company officers to gather material requirements and produce estimates. In their absence, responsibilities are covered by another Pricing Analyst or the Vice President Chief Commercial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Develop accurate and timely price quotations for customers with support from PPC’s account management and technical teams, including purchasing.
- Ensure high accuracy in all work products, as profitability directly depends on the information generated by this role.
- Understand all facets of PPC’s business and translate this knowledge into pricing estimates.
- Interface effectively with multiple teams to gather and assimilate information needed for estimates.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency to deliver quotes promptly.
- Participate in price negotiation discussions with customers and suppliers when required.
- Contribute improvement ideas and engage in projects to enhance business operations.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in flexible packaging or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of administrative processes in a plastic manufacturing facility is a plus.
- Four-year degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Skills
- High accuracy in all job aspects, including paperwork and computer inputs.
- Strong negotiation skills with customers and suppliers.
- Action-oriented, assertive, and diplomatic with the ability to multitask and work under urgency.
- Creative problem-solving to address supply chain challenges.
- Proficient in English (reading and writing).
- Team-oriented with consensus-driven decision-making abilities.
- Experience with business operating systems and Windows-based programs (Excel, Word, Outlook preferred).
