About the role

Performs routine preventive maintenance (PM) on operating mechanical equipment throughout the Hospital. Provides information for the P.M. program. Responds to emergency calls. Responsible for snow removal as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on automatic doors, roll-up doors, and fire doors.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on laundry chutes.
  • Affixes Automatic Door Technician with the installation of new automatic doors.
  • Repairs various hospital equipment: kitchen equipment, pallet jacks, and SPD carts.
  • Responds to emergency calls for the memios trash and linen system.
  • Ensures all work is completed within ICRA & ILSM guidelines.
  • Might be required to assist other trades as needed.
  • Responsible for snow removal as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Related Field of Study required.
  • Experience Related experience 3-5 years required.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, tool usage, and pneumatics.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders and walk almost constantly. Occasionally required to work in confined areas.
  • Interpersonal skills to exchange information with other shop’s personnel about work needed, to provide on-the-job training and to conduct formal skill-building training classes.
  • NFPA Hot Work Certification required.
