Preventive Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Preventive Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will repair, maintain, adjust, and test production and plant equipment operating on mechanical and electronic principles. You will diagnose malfunctions, interpret technical documents, and ensure equipment operates efficiently. This position involves performing inspections, documenting work, and handling materials in compliance with safety requirements.

Shift & Location

• Shift: Rotating 12-hour shift from 7 PM to 7 AM EST, operating on a two-week cycle. Week 1 includes Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; Week 2 includes Wednesday and Thursday.
• Location: St. Petersburg, FL – 100% Onsite

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, adjust, and test production and plant equipment, including machinery operating on mechanical and electronic principles.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, replace, clean, lubricate, and reassemble machinery and equipment as needed.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions by observing operations, reviewing error messages, analyzing test results, and gathering information from operators.
• Interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and manufacturer specifications to determine proper installation, operation, and replacement of components.
• Operate and test repaired equipment to verify proper functionality and adequacy of repairs.
• Perform daily maintenance checks and inspections and document all work performed, including as-found and as-left conditions, on Maintenance Work Orders and equipment logbooks.
• Handle non-hazardous, hazardous, and DEA waste in accordance with applicable procedures and safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and must meet one of the following qualifications:
  • Completed an apprenticeship in Electrical, HVAC, or Electro-Mechanical, with a minimum of 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience, plus at least 5 years of experience in a second discipline.
  • Graduated from a trade school in Electrical, HVAC, or Electro-Mechanical, with a minimum of 10 years of post-graduation experience, plus at least 5 years of experience in a second discipline.
  • At least 15 years of documented experience in Electrical, HVAC, or Electro-Mechanical, plus at least 5 years of experience in a second discipline.
• Knowledge of the process required to perform maintenance within a GMP manufacturing plant.
• Basic computer skills, Windows navigation, and data entry.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Must display a positive attitude and be a team player.
• Must be able to climb ladders and withstand heights.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs; no lifting greater than 44.09 pounds without assistance.
• Must be able to walk, stand, sit, kneel, crawl, and lay to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Must own appropriate tools.

Preferred Skills & Background

• Certificate of Completion from Rockwell Automation or an approved training facility on Allen Bradley PLCs preferred.
• Experience within a cGMP environment preferred.
