Prevention Specialist
Qualifications/Requirements
- To serve at an Air or Space Force installation.
- Completion of administrative functions, budget execution, and implementation of primary prevention education and training for the total base population.
- Works collaboratively with installation Integrated Resilience Office (IRO) partners to coordinate and integrate prevention activities to effectively prevent negative outcomes associated with sexual assault and harassment, family violence (including intimate partner violence and child abuse and neglect), workplace violence (including harassment, bullying and hazing), suicide, and alcohol abuse and/or misuse prevention, hereafter referred to as self-directed harm and prohibited abusive or harmful acts.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain & maintain a “Secret” Security clearance.
- Must meet screening/suitability criteria listed in Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Air Force (DAF) guidance.
- Comprehensive and professional knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to the prevention of violence, promotion of help-seeking, and resilience.
- Thorough knowledge of a wide range of delivery systems relating to violence prevention and the multiple uses of such systems.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training outcomes.
- Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
- Highly Desired: Master’s degree or higher in a behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
Salary Range
Salary Range: $82,780 – 107,620 Depending on the type of position you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
