Prevention and Outreach Specialist

Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and deliver educational programming to students, faculty and staff on sexual misconduct prevention and youth protection, including training required by Title IX Regulations, Clery/ VAWA , NCAA , and other governing bodies.
• Cookout outreach events to engage members within the community.
• Develop communications regarding training opportunities and prevention materials to strengthen interest and engagement in sexual violence prevention and youth protection.
• Collect and analyze data to evaluate effectiveness of programs and adjust programs accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of education and initiatives.
• Cookout with student organizations, faculty, and staff to provide education and promote outreach.
• Build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to program goals.
• Cookout and manage various online education and training platforms.
• Develop content for and manage web content and social media accounts.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to sexual violence prevention, public health–informed strategies, trauma‑informed education, youth protection, and emerging best practices.
• Provide administrative support for the registration of University sponsored programs or activities involving minors.
• Provide office management support to the Title IX Office.
• Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Formal Education: Bachelors degree required.
• Work Experience: Experience in sexual violence response, public health, compliance, or higher education field. Experience delivering training and prevention education.
• Work Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with individuals of varying identities which may impact their access to and utilization of various support services and resources. Working knowledge of trauma-informed practices. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners. Strong public speaking and presentation skills. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to read and write English language.
• Specific Job Knowledge: Knowledge of Title IX Regulations, Clery Act and VAWA . Knowledge of contemporary issues surrounding sexual violence in the college setting.
• Equipment Knowledge: Demonstrated competency in computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience of presenting trainings and prevention and education materials. Experience working with individuals impacted by sexual and interpersonal violence. Experience developing presentations. Experience utilizing marketing and outreach platforms. Knowledge of youth protection best practices and PA Act 153.
