About the Role
A Prevention Specialist provides expertise, strategic leadership, and technical consultation in substance use prevention within designated counties.
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate community-based coalitions, establishing collaborative communication and strategic plans.
- Oversee activities and events funded by prevention grants, ensuring objectives are met.
- Manage budget preparation, monitoring, and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with community agencies to develop, implement, and evaluate prevention programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, social services, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of community experience in public health and prevention program development.
- Valid driver’s license; Certified Prevention Specialist certification preferred.
- Effective communication, group facilitation, and resourcefulness skills.
- Knowledge of needs assessment and measurement of outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to participate in prevention training and utilize personal transportation for work.
