About the role
The Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing various industrial manufacturing equipment at the Winston-Salem Cable Plant. This role involves performing root cause analysis of breakdowns, preparing maintenance instructions, and coordinating with operations for preventive maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare written maintenance instructions, records, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in a CMMS system (Maximo).
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Perform rebuilds on bench-top equipment such as heat treatment systems.
- Give direction and delegate tasks to junior PM team members.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for process equipment PM procedures and rebuilds for heat treatment systems, capstan roller racks, skaltek tire assembly, gear boxes, UV power supplies, and irradiator systems.
- Make the call when process equipment is ready to return to service or needs further maintenance.
- Recommend future corrective maintenance work orders.
Requirements
- At least one to two years of experience in maintenance at an industrial manufacturing environment with a high school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of preventative maintenance experience or equivalent.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
- Able to work with a team to perform preventative maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment.
Skills
- Strong and systematic analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- In-depth understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
- Thorough working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience with LOTO and electrical safety.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Experience in the use of hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and machine shop equipment.
- Good communication skills.
- Accuracy, attention to details, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to react positively to rapidly changing priorities.
- Capable of independently managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Demonstrated initiative and an eagerness to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- At least one to two years of experience in maintenance at an industrial manufacturing environment with a high school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of preventative maintenance experience or equivalent.
- Two year degree in Mechatronics Technician or equivalent.
- Diploma in Industrial Maintenance Technician or equivalent.
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) experience.
