About the role
This position supports projects requiring certified payroll and prevailing wages within the company, focusing on federal, state, and local government compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform, compile, and complete documents for submission to various agencies.
- Process certified payroll reports weekly and submit to general contractors, owners, or Customer Service Specialist, as necessary.
- Enter certified reports and necessary compliance information into required online portals.
- Ensure company compliance with all DOL, prevailing wage requirements; educate project personnel and employees on same as needed.
- Establish relationships and provide guidance with project managers, lead personnel, general contractor, and owner personnel to facilitate successful project completion.
- Initiate and maintain new certified jobs in the ERP system.
- Review necessary contracts for compliance requirements.
- Review certified payrolls on all prevailing wage/compliance reporting projects.
- Track apprenticeship to journeymen ratios.
- Communicate and follow-up with subcontractor reporting requirements.
- Research and determine the correct rates applicable to projects.
- Create and maintain all rate agreements for new/existing prevailing wage projects.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma/equivalent is required.
- Construction experience is preferred.
- An understanding of contracts with Davis-Bacon Act/prevailing wage/certified payroll/compliance requirements is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate professionally with field staff, office staff, managers, and outside vendors/customers.
- A positive safety attitude and personal integrity are non-negotiable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and advanced typing skills for data entry.
- Experience with ADP and IFS is preferred.
- Capable of maintaining important information confidential - extremely important for this role.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
