Description

Under general direction, performs staff support duties and acts as a technical resource for mid-level management. The incumbent will be involved in planning and supervising the work of the staff development team and at times performing the most complex duties and assignments.

Examples Of Duties

  • Affords assistance in the supervision of the Staff Development Team in the absence of the Staff Development Coordinator.
  • Consults with management and supervisory personnel to determine training needs; makes recommendations and develops programs to meet those identified needs.
  • Develops training materials, including PowerPoint Presentations, desk aids, instructional manuals and exercises to enhance the retention of training.
  • Schedules and trains staff, as appropriate; may include training for new employees as well as existing staff.
  • Affords assistance in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Reviews and interprets federal and state policies and regulations and incorporates the findings into the Policies and Procedures Manual, Legal Processing Manual, and the various automated computer systems.
  • Disseminates information via GroupWise email.
  • Affords assistance in researching and participating in the conversion to the Statewide system (CCSAS version II).
  • Other related duties, as required.

Typical Qualifications

  • Education, Training and Experience: Some to extensive responsible operations, project or staff experience related to the acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities of the position. This can be obtained by at least one (1) year specific experience in preparing and presenting complex materials such as training programs, reports, and manuals. Must have demonstrated skills in written and oral communication. Proficiency in computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • County Agency/Department: Must be currently working as a regular employee with the Department of Child Support Services, County of Ventura. NOTE: Regular employee means one who has been appointed from an eligible list to an allocated position in the County Service.
