About the role
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Press Operator to join our manufacturing team in Scranton, PA.
Responsibilities
- Operate press equipment safely and efficiently while following all company safety procedures and policies.
- Maintain quality and production standards by monitoring all phases of the press operation through the press control panel and making process adjustments as needed.
- Perform basic troubleshooting to identify root causes of equipment or process issues and coordinate repairs with Maintenance when necessary.
- Set up and perform material and color changeovers, including changing filters, purging systems, cleaning receivers, and restarting production.
- Clean and maintain molds, mold lids, equipment, and work areas to support quality and 5S standards.
- Calibrate equipment and tools as required.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Label finished products, sheets, and skids accurately.
- Complete operator preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on schedule.
- Perform inventory transactions, cycle counts, and material confirmations using the company's ERP system (Movex).
- Print manufacturing orders, enter work orders, monitor material balances, and follow production schedules.
- Safely operate a forklift to move raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
- Monitor master batches and perform bulk density checks when required.
- Communicate production status, equipment issues, and shift updates with incoming and outgoing team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment through housekeeping and continuous improvement (5S) initiatives.
- Demonstrate teamwork, accountability, and leadership while supporting departmental and company goals.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
- Forklift operating experience or certification preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills and experience using production or ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to use measuring devices and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a collaborative, customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and reliable attendance.
