MAT Industries, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of air compressors and air brake tanks in Jackson, TN. We operate world-class domestic manufacturing facilities, producing high-quality air compressors, air tools, and accessories under brands such as Powermate®, Industrial Air®, Industrial Air Contractor®, and Sanborn®, as well as private labels. Our products are sold through major home centers, hardware co-ops, independents, and farm and fleet stores across the U.S.

About the role

We are seeking Press Operators for the first shift, starting at $19.50/hour. This position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus and an air-conditioned manufacturing environment with a focus on work/life balance. Enjoy most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays off.

Schedule

• 1st Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Ten-hour shift with three paid breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate presses, including occasional progressive presses
• Follow all safety regulations and encourage co-workers to do the same
• Adhere to company policies and procedures
• Read and interpret blueprints for product specifications
• Conduct quality inspections of work
• Maintain equipment in good working condition and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Perform repairs, modifications, and retrofits on production items
• Provide data to assist in monitoring and tracking project status
• Assist in training junior employees and inspecting their work
• Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects
• Sign off on completed work orders and quality of work
• Maintain knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques
• Actively participate in developing a LEAN manufacturing culture

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience operating presses and overhead cranes
• 2+ years of experience with LINK systems automation controls
• High school diploma or GED
