Press Operator Assistant - Flexible Packaging (AM Shift) - Plant 3
About the role
We’re growing and looking to add Press Operator Assistants to our team! As an important member of our press team, you will have the ability to achieve "Press Operator" status (full knowledge of press operation) within a maximum time frame of 1 year, fully commit to Belmark operating procedures and produce a consistently high quality product within acceptable standard waste and time rates.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
- Maintain superior attendance record.
- Perform all tasks following safety guidelines at all times.
- Comply with all Belmark operating procedures and work instructions.
- Take accurate notes for reference guide when operating press independently.
- Perform basic set ups of a job within a 3 month time frame.
- Understand schedules, job information and basic calculations within a 3 month time frame.
- Maintain a neat, clean and organized work area.
- Understand basic color and ink handling procedures in a 3 month time frame.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and computer entries from the start to the end of any given job by the end of a 6 month time frame.
- May perform other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.
- Perform job duties specific to our Hazardous Waste Management Program for the proper disposal of spent solvents, waste inks and other designated waste products.
- May perform duties such as the placement of waste solvents/inks in designated waste drums, labeling of waste drums and moving waste drums to designated storage locations.
Requirements
- Education equivalent to two (2) years of high school.
- Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple written and oral instructions.
- Nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
- Use hands for 100% of work time; reach above shoulders for 50% of work time; and use feet to operate machines for 30% of work time.
- Ability to lift: 10 pounds or less 25% of work time; 25 pounds or less 30% of work time; 50 pounds or less 25% of work time; and may lift 100 pounds or less 5% of work time.

- Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
- Ability to give, receive and analyze information.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- May be required to work some overtime.

Pay
$24.00 - $26.00 per Hour. The hourly rate for this position is determined by the level of the role, relevant experience, and may incorporate shift differentials, ensuring fair compensation that reflects both expertise and responsibilities entailed. Shift differential for the AM shift is $1.00 per hour.
Schedule
AM shift hours are from 3:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. with a schedule of 3 days on, 1 day off, 3 days on and 7 days off
12 hour shifts with consistent hours, NO SWING SHIFTOvertime after 36 hours!
