Responsibilities

• Inspect completed workpieces for defects such as chips or surface flaws and classify defective items.
• Measure workpieces to ensure they meet specifications using gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
• Set stops on machine beds, change dies, and adjust machine components for multiple passes.
• Operate and monitor machines, recording operational data to ensure proper functioning.
• Set up and tend to machines for tasks like cutting, shearing, punching, crimping, notching, bending, or straightening materials.
• Adjust machine speeds and actions using gauges and hand tools based on product requirements.
• Interpret work orders and production schedules to determine materials, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Secure workpieces using fixtures, stops, or guides, ensuring precise positioning and alignment for machining processes.
