About the Role
Under the direction of the VP of Manufacturing or Department Supervisor, you will oversee hourly employees to ensure the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance, customer specifications, and delivery requirements, in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures.
As a Press Operator, you must have the technical ability to operate all types of full converting line and finishing equipment within Pregis standards for waste, quality, and productivity. You will set up and operate special functions with minimal supervision, train other employees, analyze issues, and implement solutions while providing innovative and creative improvements.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and direct crews in the efficient operation of production equipment.
- Read and understand all information on job tickets pertaining to specific jobs.
- Ensure all necessary components to produce the job are present; do not proceed with conflicting information.
- Apply strong inline finishing skills to achieve print quality and register equipment within specified M/R standards.
- Operate all line ancillary equipment and inline equipment (e.g., gluing, labeling, Straub Applicators, rotary cutter) with minimal supervision.
- Understand tension controls, web up the line, set cylinders and plates, and perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments.
- Maintain 100% of standards in productivity, waste, and quality.
- Accurately enter codes for quantities, materials, and times on required paperwork and track line counts.
- Operate the line with minimal supervision and promote an environment for learning and process improvement.
- Identify improvements and efficiencies to reduce waste and increase production within quality standards.
- Work within all safety guidelines and procedures; maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Facilitate smooth shift transitions by sharing relevant information between shifts.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience driving a sit-down forklift.
- Ability to work in an environment with moving equipment, heat exceeding 90°F, humidity exceeding 80%, and noise exceeding 85dB.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, stooping, and sitting.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling (up to 50 lbs).
- Occasional typing/keyboarding.
Pay
Competitive starting pay of $18–$21/hr, with potential to earn up to $32/hr as you advance within Pregis.
Schedule
Days: 6 PM–6 AM based on a 2-2-3 schedule (overtime as needed based on business needs).
