Press Operator - 2nd Shift - 3pm - 1am
Position Summary
A candidate interested in being a machine operator should be highly motivated and able to multitask. This job requires attention to detail and works in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
Essential Functions
- Work in a team environment
- Stand for extended periods of time
- Lift 50 pounds independently
- Perform simple machine set-ups
- Read and understand most blueprints
- Maintain quality control (QC) requirements and procedures
- Monitor scrap rates
- Inspect parts according to procedure policy
- Understand different cutting tools and their usage
- Have basic knowledge of ISO concepts
- Be familiar with production requirements
- Understand Lean principles
- Be available to work overtime if required
- Support additional tasks as needed to meet business needs
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience required
- Experience with steel, aluminum, and/or stainless steel preferred
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read blueprints (training provided)
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and kneel without difficulty
- Repetitive lifting/pulling/pushing 50 lbs
- Exposure to loud noises
- Working in the presence of fork trucks and other manufacturing machinery
