Position Summary

A candidate interested in being a machine operator should be highly motivated and able to multitask. This job requires attention to detail and works in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.

Essential Functions

  • Work in a team environment
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Lift 50 pounds independently
  • Perform simple machine set-ups
  • Read and understand most blueprints
  • Maintain quality control (QC) requirements and procedures
  • Monitor scrap rates
  • Inspect parts according to procedure policy
  • Understand different cutting tools and their usage
  • Have basic knowledge of ISO concepts
  • Be familiar with production requirements
  • Understand Lean principles
  • Be available to work overtime if required
  • Support additional tasks as needed to meet business needs

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience required
  • Experience with steel, aluminum, and/or stainless steel preferred
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read blueprints (training provided)

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, and kneel without difficulty
  • Repetitive lifting/pulling/pushing 50 lbs
  • Exposure to loud noises
  • Working in the presence of fork trucks and other manufacturing machinery

This position operates in both office and manufacturing floor environments. Exposure to noise, machinery, temperature variation, and industrial conditions may occur when accessing plant areas.
