About the role
We are seeking a Lead in our Press department to assist the supervisor in directing assigned work activities. The Lead will also instruct, direct, and inform employees on work to be performed.
Responsibilities
- Work safely and maintain an organized, lean work environment.
- Strong commitment to good attendance and punctuality is essential.
- Perform all functions of a Press Operator.
- Provide work direction, instruction, feedback, and assist the Press Department team in performing job duties.
- Explain the use of tools, equipment, and production processes.
- Ensure all employees report to work at the start of the shift.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with employees across all levels and departments within APP.
- Provide job cross-training when necessary.
- Retrieve forged parts from the die and place them into etch baskets.
- Maintain accurate part counts of current production.
- Affirm that quality and production requirements are met according to job-specific travelers.
- Act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting and issue resolution or escalation.
- Communicate regularly with Lead A and Supervisor.
- Perform any other duties as instructed by the department manager.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in a production environment.
- Prior experience in a press department or forging is preferred.
- Wear proper personal protection equipment in the work area at all times.
- Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person (U.S. Person = a natural person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
- Must have English (reading, writing, and verbal comprehension) skills.
- Ability to work overtime when required to meet operational deadlines.
Skills
- Experience as a Machine Operator, Press Operator, Equipment Operator, or Production Lead is beneficial.

Pay
$21.00 - $25.00 an hour. This is the lowest to highest hourly rate we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
Schedule
Position involves constant rotation to move parts from press to basket. Ability to frequently lift parts that can exceed 30 lbs. to and from press using material handling equipment for assistance.
