About the role
The purpose of this position is to operate extrusion handling systems. Essential duties and responsibilities include checking orders and procedures for production, inspecting jigs and status of pallets before operation of equipment, operating various machines such as head/tail stretcher, cooling table, saw table, chip collector, loading machine, pallet conveyor, aging oven, examining products for quality and defects, notifying management of quality issues, discarding defective/imperfect product, maintaining supply of pallets, transferring full pallets by forklift, reviewing equipment at start of every shift, assisting with repair, completing and maintaining production reports and reports of equipment utilization/repair, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Responsibilities
- Check orders and procedures for production.
- Inspect jigs and status of pallets before operation of equipment.
- Operate the following equipment and adjust as necessary:
- Head/tail stretcher.
- Cooling table.
- Saw table.
- Chip collector.
- Loading machine.
- Pallet conveyor.
- Aging oven.
- Examine products for quality and defects using visual observations as well as calipers, micrometers, and a Webster Hardness Tester.
- Notify management of quality issues and possible causes and corrections.
- Discard defective/imperfect product.
- Remove and weigh material scrap bin.
- Maintain supply of pallets and transfer full pallets by forklift.
- Review equipment at start of every shift and assist with repair.
- Complete and maintain production reports and reports of equipment utilization/repair.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- The ability to read, write, and count.
- The ability to read scale calipers and micrometers and understand the metric system.
- Effective communications skills and the ability to be a team player.
- The ability to learn the job duties within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the supervisor.
- The ability to lift approximately 40-50 lbs.

The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $20.10-$24.79, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Pay
Position pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $20.10-$24.79, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
Schedule
Travel requirements for this position are less than 1%.
